2008 Effective Practices Conference
Intervention Across the Life Span

The program committee is requesting poster presentations for this summer’s conference from June 16- 19. The poster session will be held June 18. Presenters will receive reduced conference registration.

General Instructions for Submitting Proposals

Proposals must be submitted online (go to http://sper.usu.edu/conferences/epc/ and follow the POSTER SUBMISSION link) and no hard copies of proposals are required or accepted. Submission deadline for all proposals is May 15, 2008--late proposals will not be accepted. Confirmation that your proposal has been received will be sent by return email.

All presenters (including co-presenters) are required to register for the conference. A discounted presenter registration is available for those whose posters are accepted.

Submitting Your Proposal

You will be asked to provide the following information when you submit your proposal:

  • Title of Proposal: (12 word maximum).
  • Contact Information: (including name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address).
  • Strand:
    • Families and Community Integration.
    • Positive Behavior Supports.
    • Literacy / Numeracy.
    • Post Secondary Services / Rehabilitation Counseling Services.
  • Poster Description: 50-word maximum. This brief overview of the poster will be used in the final conference program.
  • Content: 300-word maximum (not including references that may be provided). In this section, describe your proposal according to the following criteria:
    1. The proposal objective.
    2. The implications for practice/information for the audience.
    3. What information will be presented (e.g., data, methods, results, conclusions).

Proposal Review and Selection Process

Selection is based on the proposals overall score compared to other proposals submitted and the need for balanced program content. Upon completion of the peer review process, the proposals are reviewed by the Program Committee. Late proposals will NOT be considered in the review process.

Important Dates

May 15, 2008Due date for all conference proposals (online systems closes at 12:00 midnight MST).
