I am interested in improving the school readiness and educational outcomes of young children who are dual language learners through delivering effective instruction, ongoing progress monitoring, and tiered levels of support to meet all children's needs within preschool programs such as Head Start and Migrant Head Start. I have completed research investigating the longitudinal effects of bilingual instruction in preschool, developing a Spanish version of the Individual Growth and Development Indicators (S-IGDIs) through an IES funded measurement project, and developing a Spanish-English version of the Read it Again-PreK supplemental language and literacy curriculum. When I am not working I enjoy gardening, hiking, being with my family, and traveling to Mexico.
