Tooele

Tooele, Utah

A resident center of Utah State University, the Tooele Branch Campus, has provided higher education opportunities for the Tooele community since 1979.

Through the Tooele Branch, students are able to earn bachelor's degrees in Psychology, Social Work, Elementary Education, Liberal Arts, and Business Information Systems; with minors available in Accounting, Sociology, Women's Studies, Psychology, Social Work, and Business Information Systems. Also available is a cooperative program with Weber State University enabling students to earn an associate's or bachelor's degree in Nursing. Graduate programs offered include master's degree programs in Human Resource Management and in Human Environments. Additionally, there is an Administrative/Supervisory Endorsement program. Special programs are also available in Plant Science, Special Education, and Gifted and Talented Education.

The Branch's history has been marked by steady growth. In 1984 there were 150 students being served in Tooele, with enrollment increasing to more than 600 students per year over the past 10 years.

The Tooele Branch campus has moved to its new central facility, made possible by the mutual commitments of the community and USU. The Tooele Community Higher Education Center brought together the computer labs, classrooms, and administrative offices; allowing for a more effective presence of Utah State University's continuing education effort in Tooele.
