Graduate Financial Assistance

The Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation offers the following graduate financial aid. A. Master's in Rehabilitation Counselor Education (MRC)
  Long-Term Training in Rehabilitation Counseling
This assistance is funded by federal grants to the department. All Rehabilitation Counselor Education students may apply. Amount of awards vary. For more information on these grants contact Julie Smart at jsmart@cc.usu.edu.

Comprehensive System of Personal Development Grant
This grant is for part-time students who are employed as state rehabilitation counselors and have been admitted to the master's program. For more information, contact Julie Smart at jsmart@cc.usu.edu
B. Master's in Special Education (MS)
  A limited number of teaching assistantships, research assistantships, and other graduate assistantships are available. Contact. Pam Hudson at phudson@cc.usu.edu. The maximum total University workload for full-time graduate students is half-time (20 hours a week). Graduate students must be full-time, matriculated students with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher. Graduate assistants may register for a maximum of 12 credits per semester, except a research assistant whose assistantship involves his or her thesis or dissertation research.

C. Doctorate in Special Education (PhD)
Other Financial Assistance For Graduate Students
There is financial assistance available for some doctoral students in the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation. Tuition waivers may also be available. For specific information contact Tim Slocum at tslocum@cc.usu.edu.
