Thank you for your interest in our special education
doctoral program. An extreme shortage of special education
teachers has led to a high demand for professors who
can prepare new teachers; all Ph.D. graduates from this
Department in the last 10 years are employed in the
field. Our program features strong coursework, extensive
individual mentoring, opportunities to conduct and publish
research, and supervised experience teaching university
courses.
I am happy to announce that our department currently
has a federally funded four-year (2000-2004) project
that supports the education of doctoral students specializing
in the use of information technologies to enhance the
effectiveness of special education teacher preparation.
If you would like more information, please visit the
doctoral website and/or contact me.
